Musician will.i.am reveals iPhone camera accessory

Musician will.i.am, best known for his work with the Black Eyed Peas, has revealed a new iPhone accessory that’ll go on sale in Selfridges London from 6th December.

The i.am+™ foto.sosho™ fits on an iPhone 4 or 4S and offers a choice of different lenses. As well as making the iPhone appear more like a conventional camera, it also offers control of the camera features, photo editing and photo sharing via social networks.

Google reveals new Nexus devices and an Android update

Google has revealed three new Nexus-branded Android devices and an update to the Android mobile operating system. Its announcement was made online after a planned press conference in New York was cancelled due to the threat from Hurricane Sandy.

The new devices are expected on 13th November and will run Android v4.2, still known by the same codename as version 4.1: ‘Jelly Bean’.

ASUS reveals PadFone 2, its new smartphone and tablet combination

Taiwan-based Asustek Computer Inc - better known as ASUS - has revealed the latest incarnation of its PadFone device.

The original PadFone was announced in May last year, combining an Android smartphone with a dockable tablet that transferred the phone’s functions onto a larger screen.

HTC reveals new 'signature' Windows Phone 8 devices

HTC is the latest manufacturer to announce smartphones that use the forthcoming Windows Phone 8 operating system, following recent launches by Samsung and Nokia.

Described as ‘the first signature Windows Phones’, the Windows Phone 8X and 8S will be available from November with distribution already arranged in over 50 countries worldwide, including the UK.

Google acquires Nik Software, the company behind photo-editing app Snapseed

Google has acquired Nik Software, a US-based company that develops desktop and mobile photography software.

Nik Software produces the award-winning Snapseed iOS app, which offers a combination of photo editing and filters for iPhone and iPad users.
