EE introduces lower-price £18.99 4G monthly tariff and starts selling 'pay as you go' 4G phones

EE has announced a number of new ‘pay monthly’ tariffs that’ll be available from the end of October. Pricing is from £18.99 per month for 500MB of mobile data.

Alongside these are ‘4GEE Extra’ deals that have particularly large data allowances.

Vodafone UK connects 100,000 customers to 4G

Vodafone UK says it has connected 100,000 customers to its 4G tariffs since they were launched seven weeks ago.

The company currently covers much of the Greater London area with its 4G network, along with Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield. Liverpool, Glasgow and Manchester are due to be added in the next few weeks.

EC's Neelie Kroes says ‘we must act now’ to change European telecoms rules

Following Wednesday’s ‘State of the Union’ speech by EC President Jose Manuel Barroso, EC Vice-President Neelie Kroes has emphasised the urgency of changing the way telecoms companies operate across Europe.

Ms Kroes wants to cut red tape, end roaming charges, reduce call costs and introduce ‘net neutrality’ across Europe.
