Iridium has more than half a million users

Iridium Communications says it’s reached 500,000 subscribers for its satellite voice and data services worldwide. Around 10% of these are US Government workers.

It says recent growth has been helped by the machine-to-machine data market, with M2M data subscribers representing 32% of commercial subscribers and 21% of government subscribers.

New research suggests business apps could be the next target for mobile developers

A new report from research2guidance shows that the average Android application has generated $2,437 since being published.

However, this cumulative revenue figure varied dramatically between categories, with the average paid Weather app having generated $21,000 but the average multimedia app only making $300. The average selling price of a chargeable app was $3.13.

Geography meets Social Media on 'Geosocial' sites

There’s a well-worn phrase in real estate: “location, location, location,” meaning that where a property is located, alone, means more than anything else when it comes to assessing its value.

But ‘location’ is getting new meanings in these days of smartphones and other hand-held devices.
