Ofcom continues to target mobile 'not spots' in 2012/13 Annual Plan

UK regulator Ofcom has published the draft version of its Annual Plan, which covers the twelve months from 1st April 2012 until 31st March 2013.

It’s now asking for feedback by mid-February before it prepares the final version of the statement.

Three UK makes it easier for electronics manufacturers to include a mobile connection

Three UK has signed an agreement with Macheen Inc, a US-based company that simplifies the process when device manufacturers want to include 3G connectivity ‘out of the box’.

Manufacturing partners haven’t been announced but could include producers of laptops, tablets, sat-nav devices and portable gaming consoles.

Everything Everywhere plans even more integration for Orange and T-Mobile

Everything Everywhere, which runs Orange and T-Mobile in the UK, says it’s accelerating the integration of its two mobile networks and will upgrade its network technology.

These plans, which will see over £1.5 billion spent during the next three years, also involve preparations for the rollout of 4G mobile technology.

One billion HTML5-ready mobile phones will be sold worldwide in 2013, says research

The latest research from Strategy Analytics predicts that sales of mobile phones able to handle HTML5 - the latest version of the language used to construct web sites - will grow by 365% between 2011 and 2016.

In fact, worldwide HTML5 phone sales are expected to increase from 336 million units this year to 1 billion units in 2013.
