Musician will.i.am reveals iPhone camera accessory

Musician will.i.am, best known for his work with the Black Eyed Peas, has revealed a new iPhone accessory that’ll go on sale in Selfridges London from 6th December.

The i.am+™ foto.sosho™ fits on an iPhone 4 or 4S and offers a choice of different lenses. As well as making the iPhone appear more like a conventional camera, it also offers control of the camera features, photo editing and photo sharing via social networks.

Spain gets GSMA's joyn across all major networks

Spain’s three main mobile network operators - Movistar, Orange and Vodafone - have each launched Rich Communication Services (RCS) through the GSMA’s consumer-facing joyn brand.

It means that Spain has become the first country to offer this type of cross-network rich communications solution to mobile phone users.

Microsoft says Windows Phone 7.8 update will arrive in 2013

The launch of new Windows Phone 8 devices last month doesn’t mean that customers with older Windows Phone handsets have been neglected.

Users running Windows Phone 7.5 on older devices, such as the Nokia Lumia 800, can’t update to version 8 but have previously been promised an interim update to version 7.8.

BlackBerry devices face ban as Nokia wins patent case against RIM

Nokia has won a patent ruling against Research In Motion that covers the use of WiFi technology in BlackBerry devices.

It means that BlackBerry could potentially block the sale of BlackBerry handsets if the companies don’t agree to a patent licensing agreement. Court action by Nokia is apparently planned in the UK, the USA and Canada.

Marketing company owner fined £300,000 for spam SMS messages

Two men who owned a marketing company have been fined £440,000 by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office for sending millions of unlawful spam text messages.

It’s the first time the ICO has imposed this type of penalty for a serious breach of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations since it was given these powers in January.
