A new report from Juniper Research expects the amount of money spent on mobile marketing by retailers will reach $55 billion per year (£35 billion) by 2015, which is almost double the $28 billion spend expected this year.
Advertising on tablets and smartphones is now showing strong growth, with retailers in North America and Western Europe moving their general ad spending towards online ads - and to mobile in particular.

The number of people receiving coupons via their mobile phones is expected to rise by 30% next year, according to a new report from Juniper Research. That means more than 500 million people worldwide are expected to have a coupon on their phone in 2013.
Integrating coupon applications with social networks is expected to drive some of this increase, as is Apple’s recent introduction of its Passbook ticket app.

A new report from Juniper Research expects the redemption rate of mobile coupons to average at over 8% by 2016. That’s an eight-fold increase over the best paper coupons campaigns.
It means there’ll be over 600 million regular mobile coupon users worldwide in four years’ time, with the total redemption value expected to exceed $43 billion (£27.5 billion) by 2016.

Isis, the US-based mobile commerce venture set up by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, has chosen Gemalto to provide much of the scheme’s security infrastructure.
Gemalto’s Trusted Service Manager solution will be used to secure the mobile commerce platform.

A new report from KPMG says consumers around the world are embracing new technology - and consumers in the UK are adopting many of these new technologies faster than the rest of the world.
The KPMG report, entitled ‘The Converged Lifestyle’, also says UK consumers appear to be more concerned about privacy and security than other countries.
