It’s just a week to go before Research In Motion reveals new smartphones running its BlackBerry 10 operating system.

Ahead of that, the company has made its new BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 mobile management system available for businesses.

Quarterly results from Google and Motorola

Google’s quarterly results show consolidated revenues of $14.42 billion (£9.11 billion), up 36% year-on-year, while net income was $2.89 billion.

Revenue from its Motorola mobile business was down to $1.51 billion; the business unit made a $353 million operating loss in the quarter.

The Mozilla Foundation has announced details of two new smartphones that’ll run the Firefox OS mobile operating system.

Both have been designed for use by developers and aren’t targeted at consumers.

Apple reports record quarterly results with almost 50 million iPhones sold

Apple announced financial results last night for the 13-week period until 29th December 2012, the first quarter of its 2013 financial year. Quarterly revenue reached a company record of $54.5 billion while net profit was $13.1 billion.

That’s an 18% year-on-year increase in revenue, although the profit figure was almost unchanged.
