ABI Research has forecast there'll be 16 million subscribers using LTE mobile devices by the end of 2011.
Commercial LTE services are currently available in twelve countries, covering both mature and emerging markets.

He’s now executive UK and Ireland vice president at Huawei, according to a report from Mobile News.

Vodafone is sponsoring hundreds of London taxis, putting 'universal' mobile phone chargers in them and also introducing m-payments.
The taxis will be wrapped in a Union Jack design, as will Heathrow Express trains. It's part of a 'London Calling' advertising campaign focussed on the network's performance in the city.

RIM has used the first day of the BlackBerry World 2011 event to announce two new BlackBerry Bold smartphones: the Bold 9900 and Bold 9930.
They're the first touch-screen BlackBerry Bold models and are also the first to run the BlackBerry 7 operating system. Both will be available from the summer.

French telecoms company MobiWire - formerly Sagem Wireless - appears to have filed for insolvency.
Court documents show receivership ("redressement judiciaire") being pronounced on 28th April and papers being issued today, with a hearing set for 23rd June 2011.
