Nokia and Harman create exclusive JBL wireless speakers for Nokia's Lumia range

Audio company HARMAN has agreed a new partnership to develop an exclusive range of wireless consumer audio products for the Nokia Lumia range. The new devices will be co-branded with Harman’s JBL brand.

The first product, which is officially known as the JBL PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker for Nokia, was revealed at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin.

Google Maps brings mobile cycling directions to the UK

Google has added biking directions to the Android version of its maps application in the UK, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.

It enables bicycle riders to benefit from voice-guided navigation on roads and cycle lanes, with the option of avoiding steep hills where possible.

European tablet sales increase more than other IT spending

Research company GfK has found that sales of IT products in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK fell by 1.3% in the first six months of the year.

It says desktop computers and mobile PCs are particularly affected, while media tablets are still increasing in popularity.

LG Electronics has formally announced the Optimus G, a new smartphone that’s the first 4G LTE device to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz quad-core processor.

The LG Optimus G has a 4.7-inch WXGA display, a 13-megapixel camera and a 2,100mAh battery. It runs Android v4.0 and is equipped with NFC connectivity
