LG, Nokia and STMicroelectronics named in legal action from Caltech

The California Institute of Technology says Nokia, LG Electronics, STMicroelectronics and Toshiba are among a number of companies that have infringed its patents. Its legal complaint lists nine patents related to camera technology.

Symbian Foundation web sites to close on 17th December

The recent news that the Symbian Foundation was becoming a licensing body and cutting back on day-to-day operations will result in the organisation’s web sites closing on 17th December 2010, according to an announcement at the weekend.

Unlocking a Windows Phone 7 handset to run any app

Windows Phone 7 has only been available for a few weeks and already there’s an unlocking solution available. ChevronWP7 isn’t a ‘network’ unlock but enables WP7 users to ‘sideload’ applications that aren’t available from the Windows Mobile Marketplace.

A time before Android
