How to make it in mobile: new London-based course starts this month
The Mobile Monday London community has teamed up with University College London’s UCL Advances centre to launch a 10-week course called The Mobile Academy.
It’s a 36-hour evening programme designed to help anyone who wants to start or continue innovating with mobile technology.

So sang Ella Fitzgerald, Bananarama and the Fun Boy Three - although sadly not on the same recording. But that message is no longer being followed by many companies. Instead, the new mantra seems to be the other way round. And I think that’s a good thing.

This week is UNESCO’s first Mobile Learning Week, which is being held in the group’s Paris HQ in partnership with Nokia.
UNESCO - the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation - has invited around 200 government officials, industry experts and practitioners to discuss how mobile technologies can transform education.

The worldwide market for ‘mobile learning’ products and services will grow from $3.2 billion last year to reach $9.1 billion (approaching £5.9 billion) by 2015, according to a new report from Ambient Insight. That’s a compound annual growth rate of 22.7%.
Ambient Insight says the countries with the highest Mobile Learning growth rates are China, India and Indonesia; all have a growth rate of over 60% year-on-year.
