The forthcoming Firefox mobile operating system from Mozilla is expected to be used on 1% of global smartphone shipments in 2013.
That’s according to a new report from Strategy Analytics, which says the Firefox OS will be battling Android for entry-level smartphone users.

North American network operator Sprint has announced that it’s joining the Tizen Association, which is the industry consortium dedicated to supporting the Tizen open-source mobile platform.
Tizen was revealed in September 2011 as a successor to MeeGo.
