LG Electronics introduces its own BYOD solution

LG Electronics has announced a business-focussed security service called LG GATE. It’s designed to separate a user’s own personal data from company data on their smartphone.

The platform is being launched in the USA on the new LG G2, enabling companies with a ‘bring your own device‘ policy to give their staff secure access to enterprise data via a personal smartphone.

Mobile security specialist Lookout announces Samsung partnership

Mobile security specialist Lookout has announced a partnership that’ll see Samsung Electronics using Lookout as part of the Android-based Samsung Knox security and device management solution.

In addition, Lookout says it’ll be launching its own business-specific mobile security product later this year.

Phablet, BYOD and the Internet of things have all entered the dictionary

Oxford University Press, the company behind the much-used Oxford English Dictionary, has added a collection of mobile technology related words to its free online service.

The latest quarterly update to Oxford Dictionaries Online includes BYOD, digital detox, emoji, Internet of things, phablet and selfie (as well as the headline-grabbing twerking).

LG creates secure 'bring your own device' version of Optimus Vu smartphone in USA

LG Electronics has created a version of its Android-based Optimus Vu smartphone that offers business users a secure device without affecting their personal information.

It’s based on the US version of the Optimus Vu - known as the Intuition - and has been created in partnership with Verizon Wireless and VMWare.
