HP says Autonomy deal was spiced up

It’s launched an investigation into last year’s acquisition of UK company Autonomy, claiming the software company had ‘spiced up’ its valuation. Condiment-based puns aside, it’s a serious matter that could see key players from the deal charged with cooking the books.

Virgin Media, which offers WiFi on 72 London Underground stations and plans to add a further 48 stations in the next few weeks, has agreed a wholesale deal with EE and Vodafone.
It means that Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and EE mobile customers will be offered free WiFi connectivity when this year’s free access ends.

We’re moving into that time of year where product announcements are replaced by promotional campaigns and sales figures. Apple revealed it had sold three million assorted iPad tablets in just three days, while Samsung said its Galaxy SIII smartphone had sold more than 30 million units since its launch in May.

iZettle, which offers a plug-in card reader that can turn smartphone into a credit card payment terminal, has launched officially in the UK.
The company introduced a beta service to the UK earlier this year.
