Mobile Broadband Group asks BBFC to help regulate adult mobile internet services

From September, the Mobile Broadband Group will start using the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) to help UK mobile networks restrict access to commercial content that is unsuitable for customers under the age of 18.

This comes after 8 years of working with the Independent Mobile Classification Board, which currently provides the framework for mobile commercial content.

Americans spend almost an hour every day on their smartphones

The latest Simmons Connect panel from Experian Marketing Services has shown that the average smartphone user in the USA spends 58 minutes on their device every day.

Just over a quarter of this time (26%) is spent talking and another 20% sending text messages.

Amazon introduces an easier sign-in process for third-party mobile apps and web sites

Online retailer Amazon has launched a new service called 'Login with Amazon'.

It’ll let any Amazon customer log in to mobile apps, online games and other websites with their Amazon account details. Mobile developers and web site managers will be able to incorporate Login with Amazon to save customers from creating a separate account.

Google launches streaming music service in the USA

Google has used its annual Google I/O developer conference to reveal a new streaming music subscription service called Google Play Music All Access.

At the moment it’s just available in the USA and will cost $9.99 per month, although early adopters receive a $2 discount. Customers can store up to 20,000 of their own songs and listen to them alongside millions of online tracks.
