Google announced the project in 2012, with US availability from 2013 and a UK launch last year.

EE now has 7.7 million UK customers on 4G

EE, which is currently talking to BT about a possible takeover deal, says it added 5.7 million customers to its 4G UK network in 2014.

This gives it a total of 7.7 million customers, beating its year-end target of 6 million.
