Last week Telefonica UK extended its partnership with G4S Utility Services, which is part of the G4S security group.
The new five-year agreement includes the provision of up to 1.4 million O2 SIM cards for ‘smart’ gas/electricity meters and is one of the largest-ever M2M deals in the UK.

ETSI, which defines globally-applicable telecomms and IT standards, has confirmed a new SIM card format that’s 40% smaller than current micro-SIMs.
This fourth form factor - abbreviated to 4FF - is 12.3mm wide, 8.8mm high and 0.67mm thick. It’ll be published in ETSI’s TS 102 221 specification.

Samsung Electronics has announced two new additions to its Galaxy smartphone series; the Samsung GALAXY Y DUOS and the Samsung GALAXY Y Pro DUOS.
The ‘Y’ designation means they’re aimed at younger users, while ‘Pro’ indicates a QWERTY keyboard.
