Vertu launches its first touchscreen smartphone

Luxury mobile phone brand Vertu has launched its first touchscreen handset.

It’s called the Vertu Constellation - a product name that was originally used five years ago - and is a Symbian-based smartphone with a 3.5-inch display. On the back is an 8 megapixel camera.

Ofcom sets out its guidance for fixed-line and mobile net neutrality

Ofcom has told Internet Service Providers how it expects them to make sure customers understand how internet traffic is being managed.

The regulator believes existing consumer information about traffic management isn’t clear enough and warns that it may need to legislate if improvements aren’t made.

Starbucks plans UK mobile payment app in January

It’s reported that Starbucks will launch an iPhone app for mobile payments in January next year.

Customers who already have a Starbucks payment card will be able to link the card to the app. It’ll enable them to pay for items in 700 coffee shops by using an on-screen barcode.

HTC will re-evaluate S3 Graphics acquisition following Apple defeat at ITC

The US International Trade Commission has decided that Apple is not violating patents held by S3 Graphics.

It’s bad news for HTC, which agreed to pay VIA Technologies and WTI Investment a total of $300 million for the company earlier this year.
