Samsung expands tablet range and creates tablet-sized Galaxy Note device

The Samsung Galaxy Note, which was introduced last year as a smartphone with a 5.3-inch display, has now been launched in tablet form.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 has a 10.1-inch screen and, like the previous model, is equipped with a pen that’ll work with the touch-sensitive screen.

Orange plans new Intel-powered Android smartphone for the UK this summer

Orange has announced plans to introduce an Android-powered smartphone using the new Intel Atom Z2460 processor.

The phone, which is currently codenamed ‘Orange Santa Clara,’ will be launched in the UK and France this summer.

HTC announces 'HTC One' series of smartphones

Last night HTC revealed a new series of smartphones called simply ‘HTC One’. The new devices run on Android v4.0 with a new version of the HTC Sense user interface.

HTC Sense now offers a set of imaging features called HTC ImageSense along with enhancements to audio quality.

Vodafone and Visa to start work on mobile payments

Vodafone and Visa have announced a worldwide partnership that’ll enable consumers to pay for goods and services using their mobile phones.

It’ll be a Vodafone branded NFC service based on a Visa payWave prepaid account and will launch first in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey and the UK during the coming financial year.

Nokia announces 41 megapixel Symbian phone, Lumia devices and Asha handsets

Nokia has announced a handful of new devices at Mobile World Congress, including a 41 megapixel Symbian smartphone.

The Nokia Asha 202, 203 and 302 handsets are ‘smarter’ feature phones running the company’s Series 40 operating system. They’ll be priced from 60 Euro.
