Nokia plans laptop with mobile broadband

Nokia says it’s going to produce a “mini-laptop” called the Nokia Booklet 3G. Full details will be released next week at Nokia World 09 in Stuttgart – but we already know it’ll have a 10-inch screen, it’ll run Windows and will deliver up to 12 hours of battery life from its thin (20mm) and light (1.25kg) body.

The Nokia Booklet will handle 3G HSPA and WiFi and will be equipped with comes with an HDMI port for HD video out, a front-facing camera, Bluetooth, GPS and an SD card reader.

Apple, Google, the iPhone and the FCC

A few weeks ago, TechCrunch.com reported on Apple’s apparent rejection of the Google Voice application for the iPhone. In a headline that read Apple Is Growing Rotten To The Core, they blamed AT&T - Apple’s exclusive network partner in the USA - for being behind what was seen as an anti-competitive move.

Next, the Federal Communications Commission, which regulates communications in the USA, asked Apple, AT&T and Google to tell them what was going on. Now Apple has published a public response...
