1GOAL: Education for All, the football and FIFA-backed project that's accompanying the 2010 World Cup, has launched what is says is the world’s biggest ever mobile phone campaign.
People can sign up for the 1GOAL mobile campaign – which wants additional funding to offer education to every child – by visiting 1goal.mobi on their handsets, by sending an email to info@join1goal.org or by responding to a text message sent by participating mobile networks. Nokia and Samsung will also be making a 1GOAL mobile app for their customers.

Research company FirstPartner says the UK's mobile advertising market will grow by 33% to reach £49.8 million this year – and will then accelerate until it's delivering revenue of £285 million per annum by 2014. The next largest markets in Europe are Germany and Italy; their anticipated revenues this year are £42.6 million and £38.4 million respectively. Overall, mobile advertising is expected to be worth £1.1 billion in Western Europe by 2014, with this growth dominated by mobile search.
