Mobile security company Lookout has found more than 50 applications in the Android Market that were infected with a new type of malware called DroidDream. Google has now removed all of the infected apps from their store.
The rogue applications can send information from the smartphone and can also allow additional software to be installed remotely.

Security technology company McAfee has agreed to acquire Trust Digital, which provides software that helps businesses secure and manage their mobile phones. It's a move that will help McAfee – best known for its anti-virus software – to move further into the mobile space.
Dave DeWalt, McAfee President and CEO, said "The acquisition of Trust Digital’s industry-leading enterprise mobility management solutions will extend the current McAfee security portfolio beyond the traditional endpoint, addressing the rapidly expanding mobile security market.
