Most mobile internet users are as happy with mobile advertising as they are with TV or online ads

Mobile advertising business InMobi has announced the results of its Mobile Media Consumption Report, which contains information from over 15,000 mobile users in 14 markets around the world.

Overall, 50% of global mobile web users said they now used their mobile device as the main way to go online.

Almost a third of the UK's web page views now come from mobile devices

New figures from research company comScore show how UK consumers are increasingly relying on their internet connections and their smartphones.

People in the UK spent more time online than the citizens of any other European country - an average of 37 hours per month - while desktop internet usage was up 5% year-on-year to 44.8 million people in December 2012.

Mobile optimisation is becoming a top priority for online retailers, says new research

Online retailers are focussed on improving the customer experience for web shopping this year, turning browsing into sales across all devices. That’s according to the 2013 State Of Retailing Online survey from retail community Shop.org and research company Forrester Research.

In fact, 51% of US retailers surveyed said their top priority for 2013 was site optimisation.

Brits love mobile data and online shopping, according to new Ofcom report

The UK leads the world when it comes to mobile data, internet shopping and catch-up TV. That’s the conclusion of Ofcom’s seventh International Communications Market Report, which looked at the availability, adoption, price and use of broadband, fixed-line telephone, mobile, TV, radio and postal services in 16 major countries.

58% of UK adults had a smartphone - one of the highest penetration figures worldwide - while 19% had a tablet device.

Tradedoubler research shows how mobile shopping behaviour is linked to operating system

Retailers can only fully understand mobile shoppers when they know what device is being used, according to a report from affiliate marketing specialists Tradedoubler.

The company’s new Mobile Devices & Behaviour study, which contacted more than 2,000 smartphone users in Germany, Sweden, France and the UK, discovered that mobile shopping behaviour can closely be linked with the consumer’s chosen device and operating system.
