ABI Research has calculated that the Apple iPad accounted for 85% of media tablets shipped in 2010.
In second place was the Samsung Galaxy Tab with about 8% market share, followed by the Archos Internet Tablet range at 2%.

The International Data Corporation has reported the first contraction in the worldwide PC market since the end of the recent recession. It says year-on-year PC shipments dropped 3.2% in the first quarter of 2011.

ViewSonic Europe has announced a 'try for free' promotional offer that enables customers to return their ViewPad 7 tablet if they're not completely satisfied.
Dissatisfied customers are given 20 days to experience the 7-inch Android tablet; they then need to return the device within a 10-day window (i.e. within 30 days from the date on their invoice) for a full refund.
