Results from Apple reveal highest quarterly revenue ever

Apple has announced financial results for the first quarter of its 2012 financial year; the 14-week period that ended on 31st December 2011.

Quarterly revenue reached a record $46.33 billion (£29.66 billion) with record quarterly net profit of $13.06 billion.

Onavo receives funding from Motorola for its free data-saving apps

Onavo, which offers free apps for monitoring mobile data usage, has arranged an additional $10 million in funding.

The deal was led by Horizons Ventures, the private investment arm of Hutchison Whampoa chairman Mr Li Ka-shing, along with Motorola Mobility Ventures.

Apple loses appeal bid to have Samsung tablets banned in the Netherlands

An appeal court in the Netherlands has dismissed Apple’s claim that Samsung tablet devices should be banned.

Last year a Dutch court ruled that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 didn’t infringe Apple’s iPad design, although it did rule in favour of an Apple software patent.
