A new research report published by Vodafone shows that global M2M adoption has increased by more than 80% since last year, with over a fifth of companies now actively using the technology.
This figure is expected to keep growing, with the number of machine-to-machine connected devices forecast to increase from 4.4 billion this year to 10.3 billion devices by 2018.

Vodafone Ireland has signed a joint venture agreement with Irish energy company ESB to provide fibre optic broadband from 2015. It’s a €450 million project that’ll offer speeds of between 200Mbps and 1000 Mbps.
ESB began looking for a ‘fibre-to-the-building’ network partner in September 2012, eventually choosing Vodafone after a competitive tender process.

Vodafone says it’s sold its 49% shareholding in Vodafone Fiji to the Fiji National Provident Fund for FJ$160 million (£51 million).
However, although FNPF now controls the Fijian network, it’ll maintain a partner agreement with the Vodafone Group.

Huawei says it’s successfully run the world’s first GSM-LTE Dynamic Spectrum Sharing trial with Vodafone Spain.
It’s a technology that allows real-time changes to be made to the allocation of frequencies for 3G GSM and 4G LTE traffic.
