Android-based Google Music store opens in USA

Earlier this year, Google launched a beta version of Google Music to a number of customers in the USA. It allowed users to upload their personal music collection to ‘the cloud’ and stream it to any of their Android mobile devices or their computer, with some offline playback available as well.

The company has now launched a public version of Google Music, which includes a music store offering over 13 million tracks.

Cortado launches HTML5 version of cloud desktop service

Cloud desktop specialist Cortado has announced an HTML5 version of its Cortado Corporate Server product line, offering even more availability for its services.

Cortado Corporate Server already provides desktop-type functionality on Apple, Android and BlackBerry devices, enabling users to remotely access documents for editing, sharing, emailing and printing. The new HTML5 client now makes the service available to PCs, Macs and other web-enabled devices as well.

Cortado offers a secure 'cloud desktop' without unnecessary restrictions

Security is often a balancing act - and security on mobile devices is no exception. If procedures and processes aren't tough enough, you'll compromise the security of the information you're protecting. But if your security is too tight or if it seems too complicated to an end user, that user is likely to find a way round your security by doing something else instead.

Cortado makes it even easier for businesses to work 'in the cloud' on Android devices

Cortado, which offers cloud-based desktop services, has enhanced its Cortado Corporate Server with new features for Android business users.

The Corporate Server platform enables mobile devices to be integrated into IT infrastructures, allowing business users to access their corporate network, create PDF and ZIP files, print documents from their handset and even send faxes.
