Pedestrians may have been skating down pavements but a different kind of trouble on the high street dominated much of last week as music, DVD and occasional mobile phone retailer HMV went into administration.
Financial institutions representing 90% of all current accounts in the UK have committed to launching a new mobile payment service in spring next year.
Customers will be able to make payments by quoting the recipient’s mobile phone number instead of their bank sort code and account number.
Over one billion people will have used their mobile devices for banking by the end of 2017, according to a new Juniper Research
report. That’s more than 15% of the global subscriber base - and is a substantial increase from this year’s expected total of just over 590 million mobile banking users.
