The GSMA says there were more than 60,000 delegates, exhibitors, contractors and media visitors from 200 countries at the 2011 GSMA Mobile World Congress. That's a 20% increase on 2010; a record for the four-day mobile industry event.
The 2011 Congress hosted nearly 1,400 exhibitors and occupied more than 58,600 square metres of exhibition and meeting space.

Motorola Mobility has today announced that The Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, Currys and PC World will all be offering its XOOM tablet in the UK.
XOOM is expected to hit the UK in Q2 this year.

Solar technology company Intivation, which is based in Amsterdam, has revealed the Umeox Apollo mobile phone this week.
It's an Android smartphone with an embedded solar charger offering extended battery life. The phone will be produced by Chinese manufacturer Umeox.
