Yes, Apple’s new $799 128GB iPad didn’t get much of a mention in the mobile press last week - thanks to the new BlackBerry 10 platform and two new smartphones. Memories of Stephen Bates’s awkward BBC interviews were soon forgotten as the touchscreen Z10 appeared and quickly hit the shelves of UK retailers.

"In 2012, we became a mobile company", says Mark Zuckerberg
Facebook has reported its fourth quarter and full-year financial results for 2012, with quarterly revenue up 40% year-on-year to $1.585 billion but net income down over 78% to $64 million.
However, the social networking company noted that its research & development costs had more than doubled from Q4 2011.

There’s plenty of snow disrupting the UK – but, thanks to the mobile telecoms industry, thousands upon thousands of people are able to work from home. We’re all feeling pretty pleased with ourselves right now, aren’t we?
Pedestrians may have been skating down pavements but a different kind of trouble on the high street dominated much of last week as music, DVD and occasional mobile phone retailer HMV went into administration.
