Ahead of this afternoon's official launch of Microsoft Windows Phone 7, LG Electronics has launched its first Windows Phone 7 handset in the UK. The LG Optimus 7 has a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen and a 5 megapixel camera.
Other features, according to LG's blog, are DLNA-based multimedia sharing – the ability to share pictures, video and music wirelessly to or from any DLNA-compatible device at home – and voice-to-text transcribing for Facebook and Twitter updates, emails and notes. There's also Scansearch, an exclusive augmented reality app for real-time information about shopping, dining, weather, entertainment and banking.
