Mobile security specialist Lookout has arranged $55 million of strategic financing.
Investors included Deutsche Telekom and Qualcomm Ventures as well as venture capital firms Greylock Partners and Mithril Capital Management, along with current investors Accel Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Index Ventures and Khosla Ventures.

Mobile security specialist Lookout has announced a partnership that’ll see Samsung Electronics using Lookout as part of the Android-based Samsung Knox security and device management solution.
In addition, Lookout says it’ll be launching its own business-specific mobile security product later this year.

Partnership between France Telecom-Orange and Lookout
France Telecom-Orange has formed a global strategic partnership with mobile security company Lookout.
From early next year, Orange customers in France, Slovakia, Spain and the UK - along with EE and T-Mobile customers in the UK - will have the Lookout Mobile Security application installed as standard on selected new Android devices. The software will help consumers protect their smartphones against malware, data loss, privacy threats and loss or theft.

Mobile security company Lookout has published its State of Mobile Security 2012 report, warning that web-based threats remain the most prevalent threat to consumers.
It’s calculated that four in ten people are likely to encounter a web-based security threat in a year.
