80% of mobiles contain enough data for identity fraud

Here's a theme we've talked about in the past - and one that's likely to get bigger and bigger over the next few years. Data security company Credant Technologies says over 80% of mobile phone users keep confidential information on their phones that could easily be used to steal their identities. And it's not just names and addresses: 24% have PIN numbers and passwords on their phones while 11% keep social security and Inland Revenue details. Perhaps the most damning figure of all is that 40% of people don't use a password on their phones. [Press release]
