Slightly earlier than expected, Apple has confirmed UK pricing and availability for the iPad tablet device. Apple iPad models will be available to pre-order from Monday 10th May, with the device going on sale from Friday 28th May. As well as selling in the UK, it'll also be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland. Sales in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore are expected from July.
UK pricing will range from £429 for the 16GB WiFi-only device to £699 for the 64GB WiFi+3G device. The 3G-enabled models are priced at a £100 premium above the WiFi-only models. As expected, UK pricing is higher than current prices in the USA, where the entry-level iPad retails for $499 (currently around £340).
