Vodafone has published its half-yearly figures with group revenue up 9.3% to £21.8 billion and profit up 2.4% to £5.9 billion. It also says its £1 billion cost saving programme is likely to be completed by the 2010 financial year – 12 months ahead of schedule – and it’s now aiming to save a further £1 billion by 2012. At the end of September 2009 the UK part of the business had 18.7 million customers (43.7% on 'pay monthly' contracts) with the group controlling a total of 323 million users worldwide.
