Vodafone considering T-Mobile UK takeover?

The Financial Times reports that Vodafone is contemplating the purchase of T-Mobile’s UK business, which is estimated to be worth around £3 billion. Any such move would give Vodafone clear leadership of the UK mobile phone market, although it could well be blocked by competition regulators. An alternative might be a partnership, rather like the recent Australian deal between Vodafone and Hutchison. Neither party has issued any official comment.
