Research company comScore says social networking is driving mobile internet growth across Western Europe, encouraging new users to access the web from their phones. Its research shows that 34% of mobile phone owners are only accessing social media, with mobile social networking growing by 152% from November 2007 to November 2008. The UK has Europe's highest mobile social networking usage at 9% of all mobile phone owners. (The average across Europe is 5%).
