The number of mobile phone shops in the UK is up 12.5% this year, from 3,847 to 4,329, according to figures from The Local Data Company. Its latest report shows The Carphone Warehouse as the dominant retailer, with 812 stores. The report also notes a dramatic increase in the number of Orange stores – up from 306 to 407 units – in the last 12 months.
