A woman from California is claiming more than $100,000 from Google after being injured while walking alongside a road in Park City, Utah. Apparently the woman was using Google Maps on her mobile phone to find directions across the city in the dark and was directed to a road that didn't have pavements. Her lawyer says the woman was injured by a car while trying to cross the road from the pavement-free side.

Google's representative says the company's software includes a disclaimer that pedestrian paths may be missing from its computer-generated routes. [Sources: WSJ.com; CNET.com]
