LG Electronics has announced financial results for the fourth quarter of 2011 and for the full year.
In Q4 2011, LG reported consolidated revenues of 13.81 trillion South Korean Won (£7.78 billion) with an operating profit of KRW 23 billion; the first profitable quarter for a year and a half. There was, however, a net loss of KRW 112 billion in the quarter. For the 2011 year, consolidated revenues reached KRW 54.26 trillion and operating profit was up year-on-year to KRW 280 billion.
The LG Mobile Communications Company - the mobile phone part of LG’s business - revealed a quarterly profit and sales of KRW 11.69 trillion for the year, down 9.9% on 2010. It shipped 17.7 million devices in the quarter.
