The London-based Mobile Entertainment Forum has just published its third Business Confidence Index for 2009. It reveals that the group’s members expect revenue from mobile media to grow by 33% this year; an increase of 6% from predictions at the start of 2009.

MEF’s Executive Director Rimma Perelmuter said “The results point to a divide between the established and emerging markets. Our members in the established markets such as Western Europe and North America are forecasting relatively stable revenues but see emerging markets such as Central & Latin America, as well as India, driving proportionately larger revenue increases for the coming year.”

Most respondents expect paid-for content to account for around two-thirds of their revenue – mainly games, video, music, social networking and infotainment – although 14% of all revenue is projected to come from applications, with over half of this revenue generated through consumers buying the apps.
