A television advertisement that said "Did you know that you can exchange any unwanted mobile phones for cash at mobilephoneexchange.co.uk?" has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority following a complaint. A viewer who'd tried to claim cash for an old handset was told the company wouldn't accept it.
Mobile Phone Xchange confirmed to the ASA that they did not buy some phones, depending on the value of the device. As a result, the ASA has said the ad was misleading and must not be shown again. [ASA adjudication]
