Motorola has said its North American ‘DROID’ handset will be known as the Motorola MILESTONE when it comes to Europe. The Android 2.0-powered smartphone will be available in Italy and Germany; there’s still no official UK release date but it’s possible we’ll be seeing it here before Christmas. Motorola’s MILESTONE is just 13.7mm thick yet has a 3.7-inch multi-touch display, a 5 megapixel camera and a suite of Google applications. There's no mention of the new Google Maps navigation service, although Motorola is including a trial of its own MOTONAV GPS service. [Press release]
