Motorola CLIQ / DEXTThe UK's Advertising Standards Authority has upheld a complaint about a TV ad for the Motorola DEXT. The advertisement for the DEXT (known as the CLIQ in the USA) described it as "the first phone with social skills", emphasising the way it offered easy access to messaging and social networking services.

However, INQ challenged the claim, pointing to its own phones that had been released before the DEXT.

Motorola responded by saying "The first phone with social skills" wasn't a claim that could be measured, because the concept of 'social skills' was too vague. However, the ASA upheld the claim because it considered viewers would interpret the reference to mean it was the first phone to offer streamed access to social networking sites – and the Motorola DEXT was not the first mobile phone to integrate social networking applications in one place.
