Opera Software, which makes the Opera mobile web browser, has appointed Lars Boilesen as the company's new Chief Executive Officer. He replaces Jon von Tetzchner, who co-founded the company in 1995 and will continue to work full-time for the company in an independent role.

Lars Boilesen was Opera's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing from 2000 to 2005. He rejoined the company last year as Chief Commercial Officer, having been CEO of Alcatel-Lucent in the Nordic and Baltic region. [Press release]
