Researchers from Imperial College London have found no association between the risk of early childhood cancers and the mother’s exposure to mobile phone base stations during pregnancy.

Their study, which has been published in the British Medical Journal, found no suggestion that children whose mothers had lived near a base station during pregnancy had a greater risk of developing cancer than those who lived anywhere else.

The study was funded through the UK Mobile Telecommunications Health Research Programme, which is an independent body jointly funded by the Department of Health and the mobile telecommunications industry.
