Nokia has announced what it describes as “one of the most significant milestones in its history” with the sale of its 1.5 billionth mobile phone using the Series 40 operating system. The device - a Nokia Asha 303 - was sold in Brazil.
Series 40 is over 12 years old, having first appeared on the WAP-enabled Nokia 7110 in 1999. The latest devices offer Nokia Maps, Nokia Money and Nokia Life Tools, along with a web browser and web apps.
