Ofcom has just published a report looking at the state of the UK’s telecomms market for the fourth quarter of 2008. It says total revenue from the UK’s four largest mobile networks fell by 2% from the previous quarter (and 1% year-on-year), although total call volumes grew by 2% from Q3 and SMS/MMS volume grew by 11%. The UK ended the year with 48% of subscribers on ‘pay monthly’ contracts and 52% on prepay. [Summary; pdf report]
