Friday night's Comedy Showcase season on Channel 4 television introduced us to the staff at PhoneShop, a fictional UK mobile phone shop in Sutton where Christopher – actor Tom Bennett – had just started on a one-day trial.
The 30-minute show had Ricky Gervais as a script editor and, even before the pilot show was broadcast, had been commissioned as a six-part series for E4 next year. Friday's programme can be watched online via 4OD.
