It creates mobile coverage maps and provides coverage data, as well as supplying information about coverage patterns, wireless spectrum depth, network configurations and licencing.

The GSMA and the Wireless Broadband Alliance are working together to make it easier for mobile devices to connect to WiFi hotspots.

Both organisations are developing technical and commercial frameworks for ‘WiFi roaming’, which should result in a simpler consumer experience.

Apple says it’s sold three million of its new iPad tablets since the device went on sale last Friday morning.

The new iPad is currently available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Switzerland, UK, the USA and the Virgin Islands.
